***EMPIRE WINS SPEEDO SUMMER CLASSIC MEET IN FORT LAUDERDALE***

Empire took home the gold at the Swim Fort Lauderdale Speedo Summer Classic Meet in Fort Lauderdale last week, taking first place in the combined team overall rankings! This was truly a team effort, helped by many swimmers securing high individual rankings with Fiona Blaho, Toby Chen, and Nikita Ambotas taking high point in their respective age groups.

Numerous team records were also broken at this meet:

  • Emma Blaho set new 9-10 records in the 50 breast and 100 breast.
  • In the 11-12 category Toby Chen and Fiona Blaho pretty much rewrote the record board, with Toby setting team records in the 11-12 50 free, 50 breast, 50 fly, 100 free, 100 breast, 100 fly, 200 free, and 200 IM, and Fiona setting new records in the 50 free, 50 fly, 100 fly, 200 free, and 200 IM and qualifying for the Empire National Team.
  • In the 13-14 category, Nikita Ambotas set new team records in the 100 free, 200 free, 200 IM, and 400 IM, also qualifying for the Empire National Team in the process. Also in the 13-14 category, Carter Corbett set a new team record in the grueling 1500 Meter Freestyle event.
